Meet Our Friendly Dentist and Staff

Dentist:

Dr. Bassam Michiel grew up in Fresno where he attended Fresno State for his undergraduate studies in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He then went to U.C. San Francisco to study dentistry where he was awarded the Kellogg Scholarship. Dr. Michiel then returned to the Central Valley to do his dental residency at Fresno’s CRMC. Dr Michiel is committed to excellence in dentistry through continuing education, investing in technology, and working with patients to prevent further disease using the risk model. He continues to be involved in dental mission trips to Mexico, Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua to provide much needed dental care to the people of Central America. He enjoys spending his free time with family and friends, traveling, enjoying the outdoors while taking landscape and wildlife photos, playing drums and recording music, watching sports, and the occasional trip to the racetrack.

Staff:

Front Office Patient Coordinator

Angela Barajas was born and raised in Fresno. She moved to Madera in 1999 and has been in the dental field for over 20 years. She’s been happily serving patients at Dr. Michiel’s office for more than 10 of her 20 years in the dental field. During her spare time she loves spending time with her family and friends where they enjoy sporting events, hiking and road trips. What she likes most about working at Dr. Michiel’s dental office, is the family atmosphere.

Dental Hygienist

Harpreet Nahal is a Fresno native who received her bachelors degree in public health from Fresno State University. She furthered her education by attending SJVC and receiving her Associates In Science degree in Dental Hygiene. Her motivation to pursue this field was fueled by her passion to educate the significance of dental hygiene to her patients. In her free time, Harpreet likes to spend quality time with her husband and family, explore new places with her friends, and maintain a consistent fitness routine at the gym.

Dental Assistant

Mollie Fitzgerald was born in the Bay Area and moved to Kerman, Ca in 1999. She became a Dental Assistant in 2016. In her free time, Mollie enjoys spending time with her son and daughter, reading, singing, and going to concerts and shows. What Mollie enjoys most about working in the dental field is helping patients become more confident through their smile whether its cosmetically or functionally.
